This past New Year’s Eve, I was participating in a drum circle when I heard the voice of my late wife, Joy, asking me what I’ve  come to realize is one of the most important questions in life: What do you love?

As if in answer to her question, I began beating the drum for all the things that I loved and made an unusual New Year’s resolution. Having joined Twitter less than two weeks earlier, on Jan 1 I tweeted: “I proclaim 2012 as the Year of Love! I resolve to ‘beat the drum for LOVE’ all year!”

And so I began: “Happy 2012: I love birdsong in the morning. I love dreaming. I love a hot shower. Love isn’t the destination, it’s the path.”

Every day, via my Twitter account @SoulmateGuider, I “beat the drum for love:”

I love candlelight, moonlight, the spotlight.
I love walking, stretching, dancing.
I love music, art, creativity in all its forms.
I love playing with children and being child-like with adults.

Ancient spiritual wisdom and cutting-edge quantum physics both maintain that whatever you put your attention on, expands. I soon realized that with these love declarations—Acknowledging, Appreciating and paying Attention to what I love, i.e. triple AAA-ing them—I was growing the love in my life.

I calculated that by the end of 2012, I’ll have discovered, inventoried and cataloged at least 1001 things that I love which is like putting money in the bank. A Love Bank!. What if I deposit ten thousand loves in my Love Bank? A hundred thousand? What would it feel like to be a Love-illionaire?

In the same way Joy had inspired me, I wanted to inspire others to grow the love in their life. So my tweets also contained a question: WhatDoULove?

Love isn’t the destination, it’s the path! I love remembering great memories from my past, my passions and even my passwords. WhatDoULove?

WhatDoULove? is one of the most important questions you can ask yourself because when you focus on the things you love, you benefit from the quantum effect which expands whatever you focus on.

I love standing up for myself, for another, for what’s right. WhatDoULove?
I love wearing a red clown nose that makes children happy. WhatDoULove?
I love the word “and” because it’s the most hopeful word in the English language. WhatDoULove?

Beating the drum for Love on Twitter has been a powerful experience. Sometimes it feels like a chant or incantation, other times like a prayer, and there are times when it feels like a love song.

I love LOSING myself in the dance and FINDING myself in the stillness of meditation WhatDoULove?

I realized that Joy had given me a key to unlocking the treasure chest of life. Declaring my love, triple-AAAing it, beating the drum for love, creates a magical spell—a LoveSpell—that expands the love in my life.

To inspire others the way Joy inspired me, I’ve published The Quantum LoveSpell Handbook: A 30-Day Heaven-Sent Program to Create More Love in Your Life. It’s a simple yet powerful practice that will benefit anyone who wants to grow the love in their life. Remember, whatever you focus on, grows. So why not focus on what you love!

  • Couples: If you’re in a relationship, this is a great way to not only triple-AAA it, but to also open up a new channel of communication. Upgrade the in-to-me-see, better known as intimacy.
  • Singles: If you’re looking for that special someone, one of the secrets to finding a soulmate is to Cast a Quantum LoveSpell, so that you become more love-able, able to love. Think of it as a daily Love Workout that builds your Love Muscle.
  • Mothers-To-Be: Even mothers-to-be might want to Cast a Quantum LoveSpell. Doesn’t every child coming into the world want a mother who loves their life? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if mothers-to-be grew the love in their life, while growing the babies in their wombs.

I’m Casting a Quantum LoveSpell on myself and through The Quantum LoveSpell Handbook on others. My New Year’s Resolution was to beat the drum for love to make 2012 The Year of Love. My Valentine’s Day Wish is that together we can Cast a Quantum LoveSpell that grows our collective love, inspires an “Occupy the Heart” movement, incites a “Love-olution” and creates a United States of Love that eventually heals the world.

This little handbook is short and sweet. And so good for you:-) Like a teaspoon of sugar that helps with the difficult task of re-calibrating one’s perspective. Though it’s a small book, the message is an important one. Reading a portion of it everyday will give one an opportunity to gently, slowly, refocus one’s vision…opening a portal to their own beauty and love and the love that surrounds them.

Doing the simple daily exercise in your book trains our chatty and unruly minds to focus—focus away from the daily grind and unproductive thoughts that have a stranglehold on our minds—onto feelings and ideas that will reduce stress and ultimately enrich our lives. Even just a handful of minutes a day will, I’m sure, begin to slowly improve one’s life. Thank you!

“What do you love?” What a profound and necessary question. Thanks for reminding us, I.J. Weinstock, to ask the question on a regular basis. To paraphrase the wisdom in this handbook, I think we’d all do well to acknowledge, appreciate and pay attention to this guide!

What an amazing little gem of a book…thank you! I thought I’d write just a few of them to get me started…but here I am up to 90 in one sitting and still going strong! So I thought I’d take a moment just to let you know how much I appreciate this little gift at this time. It’s a simple plan and that’s the best kind since it addresses the most profound areas of the soul. I think I love it! Thank you again!

Sweet & easy read to get you to think playfully about what you love. It leaps joyfully from silliness like loving wearing a red clown nose to make children laugh to the depth of loving the interconnectedness of all humans breathing the same air. And it’s a great little happiness fitness program to increase what we love through daily appreciation.
